1. About Pairity
Pairity is a dating application for adults aged 18 and older. Pairity is operated from Denmark.
Data controller: [Legal name / business details to be completed before public launch]
Country: Denmark
Privacy contact: [email protected]
2. Information We Process
Account: Email address, account identifiers and authentication information managed by our authentication provider.
Profile: Name, date of birth, gender, country, languages, biography and profile photographs.
Interactions: Likes, passes, matches, interaction history, messages, blocks, reports and usage information needed to operate the service.
Location: Geographic coordinates only when you actively choose the Update Location feature and grant device permission.
Technical and security: Limited information necessary for account authentication, reliability, security and abuse prevention.
3. Purposes of Processing
We use this information to provide accounts, profiles, discovery, age and distance calculations, likes, matches and conversations; enforce platform rules and limits; respond to support requests; investigate reports; prevent abuse; and maintain service security.
4. Legal Bases
We generally rely on performance of a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) to provide requested dating features; legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for proportionate security and abuse prevention; legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)) where applicable; and consent (Article 6(1)(a)) where required for optional processing.
Dating profiles and communications can reveal sensitive personal information, including sexual orientation. Where GDPR Article 9 applies, an additional lawful condition is required, such as explicit consent where applicable. The relevant condition and any required consent mechanism must be confirmed before public launch.
5. Profile Visibility and Photos
Your profile information and photographs may be visible to other eligible users who encounter your profile in Discover. A mutual match is not required to view those profile photographs.
Profile photographs are stored in access-controlled storage. Other users may nevertheless capture or save material that they can view.
6. Likes, Matches and Messages
Pairity processes likes, passes, matches, interaction history and messages to operate its dating features. Messages are intended for participants in the relevant conversation.
Deleting an account removes associated matches and their messages through the current database deletion process. Interaction history associated with a deleted profile is also removed.
7. Location Data
Pairity requests device location access when you actively choose Update Location. With permission, coordinates are stored to support distance calculations and location-based discovery. Pairity does not automatically update your location in the background.
Your precise coordinates are not intended to be displayed publicly. Removing device permission stops further access through that permission but does not erase coordinates already stored. Stored coordinates are removed when your account is deleted.
8. Reports, Blocking and Safety
We process blocks and reports to investigate possible rule violations and protect users. When an account is deleted, associated user references may be removed from retained reports.
Certain reports may be retained where necessary for investigations, legal obligations or legal claims. Reports may contain personal information in free-text descriptions, even after account references have been removed. We aim to minimize and remove such information when no longer necessary. A fixed automated deletion period has not yet been implemented.
9. Service Providers and International Transfers
We use Supabase for authentication, database services and photograph storage. Our primary Supabase project is hosted in Ireland (EU).
We use Resend to deliver account-related emails, such as verification and authentication messages.
Service providers may process information as needed to provide their services. The location of every processing operation and any transfers outside the EEA, together with applicable transfer safeguards, must be verified before public launch.
10. Retention
Account and profile information is generally retained while an account remains active. Deleting an account removes the authentication account, profile, stored photographs and associated data through the account deletion process.
Some reports or information subject to a legal obligation or justified legal claim may need to be retained for longer. Specific retention schedules, including provider logs and backups, require final verification.
11. Account Deletion
In Pairity, open your profile, select Delete Account and follow the confirmation instructions. For assistance, email [email protected].
See our account deletion instructions. Information that must lawfully be retained may not be removed immediately.
12. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability, and withdrawal of consent where applicable. Contact [email protected].
You may lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority, including the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).
13. Security
Pairity uses authentication, database access restrictions and access-controlled storage to protect personal information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
14. Age Restriction
Pairity is intended only for people aged 18 or older. Accounts identified as belonging to minors may be removed.
15. Updates
We may update this policy as the service changes. The current version and its revision date will appear on this page.
